The "Lady Palm"
The 'Lady Palm" is one of the best palm choices
for indoor plants you can select. They're exotic looking, durable
and easy to care for.
As with most palms a grower must spend time and have
patience. Growing a Rhapis palm from a single seedling to a ready
to go interior plant takes years of time, patience and care.
All of our Rhapis palms begin as a selected seedling.
After selecting the seedling is potted in a well drained soil, fertilized
with a special palm mixture, carefully watered and nurtured each
day.
During this growing process the young Rhapis develops
a strong root system which fills out the pot. This helps the rich
green foliage grow while down below lots of suckers are emerging
to complient the full pot of roots with lots of foliage.
Over the course of time the plant will be repotted
into larger pots and allowed to grow and mature further. Once the
plant reaches our specifications it is then moved into 73% shade.
During this time the leaves turn a dark green and new foliage emerges
which really "finishes" it off before shipping.
